Job Summary:
We are looking for a confident engineer who can display a strong balance of technical acumen and stakeholder management skills. The Machine Learning Engineer should have the knowledge and industrial experience of design, build, and implementation of ML models. The successful applicant will be working with our Computer Vision Engineering team to build and optimise our autonomous vision-based navigation system, for our upcoming space missions.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Development and Implementation of ML models, tailored for specific applications. 
  • Develop and maintain pipelines for data acquisition, cleaning, and preprocessing to ensure high-quality input for models.
  • Utilise popular ML models and ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn to create and train models.
  • Work within a team to integrate ML models into larger systems, ensuring that models interface seamlessly with other software components.
  • Use advanced ML techniques, such as DL for object/keypoints detection
  • Document the development process, model architectures, and evaluation results in detailed technical reports and presentations.
  • Implement robust testing frameworks to validate the accuracy and reliability of ML models.
Essential Experience:
  • Strong skills in Python and ML libraries. A good knowledge of OpenCV and experience of image/video processing.
  • Solid understanding in ML algorithms, data structures, and software development principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • A basic understanding in general programming/scripting e.g., Python, Java, C/C++.
  • Excellent technical communication skills (written/verbal)

Education and work experience:

The ideal candidate must have a relevant degree in Engineering disciplines
