We are excited to announce the contract signing of Lúnasa and the European Space Agency Business Incubation Centre in the UK (ESA BIC UK).
Lúnasa has joined the ESA BIC UK at Harwell Campus and accessed grant funding, supporting the technology development. The program includes access to business and technical support, as well as access to science and innovation campuses, including satellite assembly and testing facilities.
Following this achievement, Lúnasa will be expanding its presence at Harwell Campus with further recruitments and installing robotic testing facilities.
About ESA Business Incubation Centre United Kingdom (ESA BIC UK):
The ESA BIC UK provides the support and funding that start-up companies need to turn their ideas into profitable products and services using space technology, or to develop technologies for use in space. The ESA BIC UK is managed and partly funded by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), in collaboration with ESA, The University of Leicester and the UK Space Agency.
About Lúnasa Space:
Lúnasa is a space-tech startup based in the UK with the vision of accelerating the world’s transition to affordable, sustainable, and reliable access to space. Lúnasa is developing an innovative independently reusable in-orbit servicing satellite, which is capable of transporting small satellites to orbit through ridesharing and last-mile delivery. Once the satellite is deployed, Lúnasa will be expanding its operations to other in-orbit services such as satellite refuelling, life extension, and active debris removal missions.
